why am I just now learning about this, and why is it through a gen 1 mlp parody comic
For some reason people like to pretend that social conditioning through popular entertainment isn't a thing, or at best they laugh and shrug it off only to immediately forget about it.
If you really want to learn about popular social conditioning, it's not hard to find information - no one's even trying to hide it. I got that first clip off Wiki for pete's sake.
I’m kind of afraid that they did this social conditioning stuff in G4 MLP.
They totally did - that was pretty much the point of the show. The big difference being that at least G4 was upfront and honest about it's intents. That's one of the good things about shows for Gen Z - they aren't sneaky about it like they were in the 80's and 90's, and the messages are FAR more intelligent.
